Grandparent's Club

RECENT HAPPENINGS

We were blessed to have 12 grandparents in attendance for the final Grandparent’s Club meeting of the school year on February 6th.  After taking part in a Lenten preparation activity led by AMA Parent, Mrs. Tiffany Farnam, grandparents were invited to the atrium to learn about our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) program coordinated by Mrs. Kayleigh Tynen. CGS invites the child to draw nearer to God through hands-on work, contemplation, and prayer, enabling the innate relationship between God and the child to flourish. The atrium is a sacred, quiet space, which provides children the time and means they need to listen to and fall in love with God. Everything in the room is spiritual and liturgical. It is purposely structured not as a classroom, but as a place where the spiritual life can be experienced and lived. At Ave Maria Academy, we proudly offer CGS to students in preschool through first grade.

Thank you to all who joined us throughout the school year and who supported us from afar! Please watch for information regarding Grandparent’s Club events over the summer and next school year!

2024 AVE MARIA LEGACY AWARD

This past Saturday, Ave Maria Academy grandparents were honored as the 2024 Ave Maria Legacy Award recipients at our annual Gala. The Legacy Award is a tribute offered by Ave Maria Academy in recognition of those whose faithful service has been instrumental in securing our success and will leave a lasting legacy. At Ave Maria Academy, we acknowledge the essential role that grandparents play in the life of a family and within the broader community.

Our school was founded by a handful of then parents who are now grandparents of current students. When our building opened in 2014, we dedicated the Ave Maria Academy Commons to Saints Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of the Lord, as a reminder of the indispensable role of parents and grandparents in the life of a child. This year, we are proud to bestow the Ave Maria Legacy Award to the grandparents of Ave Maria Academy. We will display the below painting in the entrance of the Ave Maria Academy Commons in honor of our grandparents.

GRANDPARENT'S PRAYER

Dear Lord, I ask a special blessing upon my grandchildren. Fill them with Your grace and bless them with every gift they need to live their lives in faithful obedience to You.

Touch their hearts and minds and fill them with wisdom, knowledge, hope, and understanding. Help them to be loving, kind and compassionate. Be their protector and send holy angels to lead them and guide them as they go through their day. Bless their lives with peace, joy, and true happiness. Send loving friends into their lives who will be blessings to them. Keep them healthy and whole spiritually, relationally, emotionally and physically. Let Your light shine brightly in them and may they bring love and joy to all they meet. Bless them with healthy self-images and may they always know how precious they are to You and to me. May they grow to be responsible, generous, humble people of integrity and good sense. Lord, I place them in Your loving care and trust that You will always lead them, guide them, and love them. Amen.
